The Project Manager leads the application of project management processes and tools across teams to achieve milestones on time, on budget, and within scope. This position works with the team to create an integrated drug development plan that translates marketing, medical, manufacturing and regulatory needs into measurable deliverables. The project manager is responsible for effectively managing cross-functional communications, documenting key team information and decisions, and ensuring project management systems are current.
Responsibilities
· Coordinating the implementation, application, and integration of standard project management processes and tools, including timelines, budgets, risk management plans, and communication plans
· Ensuring communication about project management processes to customers, stakeholders, partners, and leadership
· Updating plans regularly and after major modifications in scope, resources or timeline
· Developing and maintaining up-to-date MS Project GANTT charts and process maps
· Identifying, communicating, and managing the critical path and leading indicators of the team’s progress to major milestones; understanding interdependencies in the team’s plan
· Provide reminders to team members of upcoming activities, key milestones and decisions
· Assisting the team in understanding the cost of development options
· Coordinating the development of team risk assessment and mitigation/contingency planning
· Communicating risk assessment and mitigation/contingency plans within the team
· Managing a team collaboration space and other tools
· Maintaining processes and tools to effectively communicate information and team progress to senior management, governance committees, team members, functions, alliance partners
· Coordinate collection of elements of a global submission strategy; ensuring development of dossier contents
· Applying knowledge of project management tools and processes
Experience and Skills:
Skills/Experience
The successful candidate will have at least 4 years experience in pharmaceutical project management with proficiency in MS Project. Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills are also essential.
Education Required
Four-year degree in scientific field; Graduate degrees or certifications in project management beneficial.
