As a clinical specialist, you will be responsible for determining the needs of callers who are transferred through the provider queue and making appropriate and timely referrals to providers who request such on member’s behalf. You assist members transferred through the patient queue to obtain a listing of in-network providers and the set up initial certifications for routine outpatient therapy and medication management sessions. This role does not contain clinical decision-making. Other tasks include assisting with discharge follow-up and assessing whether or not certain measures are met by facilities, speaking with facilities to assist with placement or referrals for members who are in care, and entry of information to assist the clinical advisors in authorizing faxed review requests. Minimum Education/ Licensure Requirements: A Baccalaureate degree in the behavioral health care field such as social work, psychology or nursing from an accredited university. Prefer certificate or licensure such as a BSW Licensure. You must be able to exercise sound judgment and engage in ethical behavior. A broad knowledge of insurance to include benefits and eligibility is preferred.
Spanish speaking a plus.
