This individual will work with the Project Leader, Project/CORE and Sub-Teams to prepare and implement Product Development Plans aligned with R&D objectives. The Project Manager will provide the comprehensive planning and information management system to enable Project/CORE Teams to deliver products of competitive value to the marketplace on time and on budget.
1. Work with Project Leader, Project/CORE and Sub-Teams to develop Product Development Plan defining target product profile, budget and timings (milestones)
2. Key role as deputy to Project Leader to assure consistent Project team management and liaison
3. Provide comprehensive planning and tracking support for Project/CORE and Sub-Teams using state of the art Project Management expertise and software
4. Monitor Project/CORE Team activities against Product Development Plan to identify deviations from planned timings, budget or scope. 5. Use appropriate communication tools to ensure that all project customers are informed of project status
6. Serve as Project Team secretariat preparing issue-driven agendas, minutes, and action lists for Team meetings
7. Assure that project support activities of functional Sub-Teams (Commercial, Clinical, CMC, Pharmacology, Assay) are aligned with the Product Development Plan. 8. Chair Project Subteams as appropriate to support Project team activities
9. Responsible for integration of Project Support activities (drug supply forecasts, clinical trial supply requirements)
10. Work with Finance and functional lines to build budgets and monitor actual vs expected spend.
Experience and Skills:
1. Science Degree (Biomedical/Pharmacy/Clinical) Advanced degree preferred
2. 5+ years Healthcare Industry experience
3. In-depth knowledge of the Pharmaceutical R&D process
4. Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and negotiation skills
5. Demonstrated analytical and information technology skills and an understanding of project planning software
6. Strong presentation skills
7. Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and priorities
8. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross functional team environment
9. Good problem solving and decision making skills
10. Ability to make things happen via influence in a fully matrixed management environment (no direct reporting relationships)
